The fourfold mission of IAC music:
1. Entertainment
2. Charity
3. To improve the visibility of the church as a social center for all people
4. To create a new type of record label for independent instrumental artists
Entertainment
The "church" was the center of the community. People found the church to be a place of worship and having their spiritual needs met, as well as a place of entertainment and social interaction. As communities grew, social entertainment, including the arts, were moved from the church into homes and social halls. The secular world began to divorce itself from the church; taking with it the idea of the church as a community center where the arts were once appreciated and shared.
IAC music's vision is for the church to regain its birthright as the community center, making people aware of the presence of the church as a social entity that brings together spiritual and social forms of worship, without excluding holiness.
The members of IAC are entertainers, not evangelists. Our job is to play music, not push our religious dogma or denomination, though we are all Christians. Our vision is to restore the arts to the church instead of being a counterfeit of the secular world, and to be at the forefront of what is the most creative process. The secular world should be looking to us for what is the most creative and original sound.
Charity
As Christians, the members of IAC music want our music to represent more than just us as individuals. We feel that our concerts should be entertaining, but also serve a higher purpose, that being charity. Again, we are not evangelists. God has called others to that mission. But we are all called to works of charity. The hosting church, or congregation, determines the charity for which the proceeds will go toward. Our experience is that most charities (homeless shelters, food banks, pregnancy centers...) are more interested in tangibles, than in money. The tangibles become immediately accessible, while money is often wasted in having to pay someone to purchase and collect the tangibles.
Making the church visible as a community center
People will often come to hear what they consider to be good music; both the churched and unchurched. By hosting these concerts, people within and without the church, begin to view the church as a place of social interaction thereby opening the door to fulfill their spiritual needs. Most people are unaware of their need for God. And therefore, unaware of their need for a church, or a church community. People also feel a need to be a part of something greater than themselves and a need to help others. By hosting these concerts as entertainment and charity, the church begins to fulfill these needs by becoming more holistic, without losing its holiness.
IAC connects with pastors, churches, community leaders, Christian Associations, universities, civic centers, schools, performing arts centers, and charitable organizations in order to bring our music to these venues. The concerts and/or workshops will be focused on the needs of a church, charitable organization, or special needs of the community determined by the hosting entity.
To create a new type of record label for independent instrumental artists
Unlike record labels created for the purpose of business, our goal is to create an environment where the artist is free to create their music as God inspires them; not forcing them to conform to the dictates of the major "for Profit" corporations. We believe that our music will sell on the merits of its quality, rather than through mass media marketing. The current marketing plan by the media, is to dictate to the consumer what the industry determines for the purpose of immediate profit. We offer an alternative, believing that the consumer should have a voice in determining what quality music is. Now, through IAC, the artists and consumers are no longer at the recording industry mercy.
