Insun Kim
Violinist (Hong Kong)
Korean violinist Insun Kim started her music education in Korea, at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University, Master’s Degree from New England Conservatory, and Advanced Certificate of Music Education from New York University, receiving scholarships from all schools. She studied with Masuko Ushioda, Anton Miller, Ui Myung Kim, Sung Hae Jun.
Ms. Kim is also an active chamber musician. She has worked closely with members of the Takacs and Borromeo Quartet, and performed in Seoul, Hong Kong, Boston, and New York City, including Carnegie Hall in 2013.
In Korea, Ms. Kim was a member of Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012 to 2018. After her family relocated to Hong Kong, she joined Hong Kong Sinfonietta in 2018. In 2023 she was appointed Assistant Concertmaster by Music Director Christopher Poppen.
